Tasik Biru

Tasik Biru is located in the town of Bau which is about 45 minutes from the city of Kuching. Tasik Biru is the main attraction that open to visitors who stroll week’s odor. Blue Lake is not a natural lake but is due to the impact of mining that carried out around 1898 to 1921 which operate by Tai Parit Mine. The mining area has turned into a lake which become a picnic spot by the crowd. Blue Lake has a depth of about 91m (300ft) where was drained in 1990 when a mining company wants to extract gold ore from the sides and bottom of the lake.

There is also many mystery story about the Tasik Biru. One of the story is that there is a beast named Rabin which is a crocodile with a white skin and not allow human for having bath in the Tasik Biru. However, the blue color of this lake is due to the high level of arsenic contain. So there is a sign board mentioned that not swimming and eat any fish that from the lake.
