Independence Memorial

This building has an amazing architecture located in the heart of Melaka. As a tourist, one would find this place to be a little too detailed. But it is made interesting with all the artifacts. It shows the history of this beautiful country, from when the Malacca empire was colonized in 1511 (founded 1400), to the Japanese invasion in WW2, and up to independence from the Brits in 1957. This museum is a must-see attraction for all visitors to Malacca, whether locals or foreigners, who want to know about the significant events that shaped this country into what it is today. Best of all, it also very good value as there is no entry charge! The place is fully air conditioned. It is two storied so folks with knee problems might find it difficult as one would have already done quite a bit of walking by then. It is opposite to the A Famosa fort.
